Breaking Travel News reports that Emirates has carried its two millionth passenger through London Stansted since launching the Dubai service in 2018. The milestone was marked on EK66, where one traveller received a Business Class upgrade and Skywards Gold status; 11 others received Skywards Silver status.
The route matters beyond London itself. Emirates positions Stansted as a gateway for travellers from Essex, Hertfordshire, Cambridge and East Anglia, with Dubai serving both as a destination and a connecting hub. The publisher says roughly 30% of Stansted customers end their journey in Dubai, while the rest continue to other points in the airline’s network.
Emirates now operates two daily Stansted–Dubai services with four-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. London Stansted has separately confirmed that the double-daily Emirates route is operating, while its airport history records the carrier’s direct Dubai service beginning in 2018. For travellers, the milestone highlights sustained demand for long-haul connectivity from an airport more commonly associated with short-haul European flying.
