Hotel Lürzerhof reopens after €10 million expansion in Austria

Breaking Travel News reports that Hotel Lürzerhof in Untertauern, Salzburg, has reopened following a €10 million redevelopment. The family-run alpine resort has added accommodation space and a dedicated adults-only wellness level, intended to strengthen its appeal in Austria’s premium spa and mountain-stay market.

The centrepiece is a new rooftop wellness area with a 20-metre outdoor infinity pool overlooking the Radstädter Tauern. The development also expands the property’s existing spa offer. Hotel Lürzerhof’s own website lists 4,500 square metres of wellness facilities and is promoting a reopening package for its new suites during the late-summer and autumn 2026 period.

The project was previously flagged by the Austrian National Tourist Office as a summer 2026 addition to Salzburg’s hotel landscape, with two additional floors scheduled to open from late July. Breaking Travel News says the new upper levels combine suites with wellness facilities, while the hotel’s official material presents the repositioning around alpine scenery, spa experiences and year-round outdoor activity.

For travellers, the reopening adds another high-end option near Obertauern, pairing a traditional Austrian mountain-hotel setting with a substantially enlarged wellness proposition.
